This guest story is by Jeff Snyder, a young man on the Autism spectrum from Massachusetts. He is a social media influencer and an Autism self-advocate. He has provided keynote speeches on various topics in special education. When he is not contributing in the Autism community, he works as a janitorial and stores operations specialist for a store, and he writes fan fiction stories too. He is one of the panelists in Mrs. Jessica Leichtweisz’s webinar series, “Ask an Autistic”.

I was born on March 27, 1989 in Providence, RI and have lived my entire life in Seekonk, MA. I was diagnosed with Autism in 1991 and ever since then, I have achieved major success in my life ranging from becoming the first high school graduate with autism to complete Pre-K throughout Grade 12 in the town of Seekonk in June of 2007 to living in my own apartment since 2015.
Also, since 2008, I have been doing a scholarship for Seekonk High School graduates called the “Jeffrey Snyder Go the Distance Scholarship,” which recognizes students with special needs or learning disabilities who are then financially supported through the first semesters of their college careers.
Some of my topics include the following areas:
1. Living Life with Autism
2. Special Education
3. Autism and Employment
